He is Tairan, and yes, that makes him one of those Asian kids who never got a cool American name like John, Brian, or Eugene. Consequently, because Tairan is a pain in the ass to say, most call him Tai, TZ, TyRONE, or some other often less flattering pronounciation of his real name. He is independent but not egotistic, humorous but not frivolous, artistic but down to earth. In other words, he is the man. He is also hella tongue-in-cheek.

He used to hail from the cozy confines of Medfield, MA, but has since been uprooted to LuongIsluand, a place he hasn't had much time to call home. He goes to college in the rollings hills of mid-NY in Cornell University, where classes are tough, rainy days are frequent, and more than enough fun things contribute to the plague of wasted time (though he gets better about this every year).

Driven by the perpetual goal of self-improvement, he takes an open minded and rather liberal perspective on life, and believes in the achievement of the full range of human experience and, to steal a line from Uncle sam, being "all you can be." Meanwhile, he does his part to be friendly and cool to the rest of the world. He enjoys friendship, idealism, and beautiful things, but so do everyone else. He also enjoys being different, but dislike it when people do so for the mere sake of being different. This is why he doesn't appreciate punk rock and goths.

Musical tastes range over an eclectic spectrum, from West to East, from classical to grunge, from ambient chill to psychedelic trance, from cheesy asian pop to gurgling death metal, and everything in between. He plays piano and bass guitar, and was once in a short high school fling better known as SPiRE, which is now scattered across the nation in various institutions of education, because all great rockers break up some day.

When he's not his natural bad-ass self, he's designing web pages, writing poetry, and otherwise being awesome(ly dorky). Among his other hobbies are photography, dreaming, and, of course, talking in the third person.
